My friend Mike Chastain and I ran the Devil’s Dome Loop in the Pasayten Wilderness on Saturday, circumnavigating the 9000+ foot Jack Mountain, and finishing up on the East Bank Trailhead on Ross Lake. September 3-7, 2017 took us to the Pasayten Wilderness and Ross Lake Recreation area to backpack the Devil's Dome Loop. Here is a basic overview map for planning purposes, not suitable for on-trail navigation. The only question is, would it be worth the 5000+ feet of climbing just to get up the first big hill? Overnight camping in the Northern Cascades requires a permit with the Ranger Station, so for the tail end of the trip you do need a permit.
